`Driving Public Service Delivery Transformation through Innovation and Technology`
About AAPSCOMS 6th General Assembly

The Association of African Public Service Commissions (AAPSCOMS) 6th General Assembly is scheduled to take place in Nairobi Kenya, at Safari Park Hotel from 6th to 8th November 2024.

This theme is pursuant to one of AAPSCOMS key objectives of seeking to reform and transform public services to become more transparent, more accountable, and more responsive to citizens’ needs, with the ultimate goal of improving performance and the quality of services that citizens receive. Citizens are yearning for more and better quality public service commitments from the government. The 6th Annual AAPSCOMS Forum aims to encourage and support public service commissions to develop, implement, evaluate and showcase impactful citizen-focused public service delivery reforms.

A well-functioning public service is the foundation of an effective state; it determines a government’s ability to provide public services to its citizens and the general public and foster economic competitiveness and political stability. Citizens depend largely on the state, for providing basic services, viz. education, health and infrastructure, either due to the absence of a market for these services or poverty. A citizen-centric public service is based on the simple idea that public services that are more responsive and accountable to people – and benefit from their insights, ideas, energy and scrutiny – will work better for people.
